Engineers at Port Aleksy have successfully concluded mechanical pressure trials on the outer tidal surge barrier, marking the completion of the project's second structural milestone.

The barrier features six steel caisson gates, each weighing over 2,400 tonnes, designed to deploy within twenty minutes of an extreme storm surge warning.

Municipal authorities noted that insurance underwriters have already lowered baseline commercial property risk premiums by 14% across the adjoining logistics park.

The final phase, involving ecological dredging and automated fish-passage sluices, is slated for commissioning in mid-2027.
